Symone

Symone Howard is a Chicagoland native currently residing in Washington, DC. She earned her Master’s in City & Regional Planning from Georgia Tech in 2018 and her Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies and Sociology from Bowdoin College in 2015. Symone is interested in the relationship between policy, the natural and built environments, and the human experience. She loves to examine how people experience spaces and what influences those experiences. Symone currently works as an Environmental Protection Specialist with the US Department of Transportation. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, exploring cities, dining with friends, catching up on her favorite TV shows, and trying to keep her plants alive. She serves on the board of the Greater Washington Urban League Young Professionals, also known as Thursday Network. She is also a member of Young Professionals in Transportation, the American Planning Association, and Women’s Transportation (WTS) International.
